Salary: The hourly pay range is $22-$24. The hours are flexible and would average around 19-20 hours a week. Candidates who can work three days a week from our midtown Manhattan offices are preferred.

A prestigious technology society is seeking to fill a part-time editorial assistant position in its Office of Publications.
The editorial assistant supports editorial staff in the completion of important tasks for the production of six magazines: Communications of the ACM, Interactions, XRDS, eLearn, Ubiquity, and Inroads. Responsibilities include proofreading articles, updating website content, checking that articles meet various production requirements, following up with authors to track down missing information and content, maintaining an editorial calendar, and managing other projects where necessary.
The ideal candidate is highly deadline- and detail-oriented, possesses excellent writing/proofreading and interpersonal communication skills, is a self-starter, comfortable with content management systems and social media, and has past experience in editorial/administrative work or equivalent college experience.
Interest in journalism, technology, and/or education are a strong plus, as is experience using article submission/tracking platforms, such as Manuscript Central. The hours are flexible and would average around 19-20 hours a week.
