The opportunity The Graduate Assistant, Advancement Communications will support the Advancement Communications team and the Office of External Affairs and Communications (OEAC) in content development, social media management, research, communications planning and general communications support. The Advancement Communications team produces compelling communications to its alumni, donors, partners and friends with the goal of impacting the SNHU brand and fulfilling our mission of student success. Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the roll of Graduate Assistant for Advancement Communications. Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following: Content Development : Assist with the creation of written, visual and multimedia content, including articles, web design and content management, social media content, photography, and video to support advancement communications. Social Media Management : Assist with the management of the SNHU Alumni social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube. Participate in social media planning meetings to brainstorm content and engagement. Help monitor "SNHU Alumni" social media accounts for community management as well as social media trends and engagement opportunities. Communications Support : Assist OEAC team with implementing communications plans, including content creation and distribution through social media, alumni.snhu.edu website, email, posters and print pieces, and more. Participate in OEAC team meetings. Minimum Qualifications: Full-time enrollment in a Graduate Day program. Preference will be given to candidates with undergraduate degrees in Communications, Art & Design, Marketing, and Liberal Arts who are pursuing a graduate degree in a communications-related field. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and/or video editing is a plus. (Willingness to learn these skills is vital!) Work Hours: Advancement Communications typical office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm; hours for this position will not exceed 25 hours per week, and schedule will be set with supervisor week to week, based on the needs of the department. Hourly rate of pay for the 2025-26 academic year is $14.00. This position will reside within the Office of External Affairs and Communications and will be located on the university's main campus in Manchester.
