Goals of Co-op
:
A Co-op student at Grantek would typically be engaged directly on client projects after onboarding. This includes:
1. Design: design of operator interfaces and programming logic to handle sequences in a process system or handling all possibilities in a material handling system.
2. Project Management: development and/or refinement of a work breakdown structure for a project. Discussions with PM on schedule and cost. Reviewing and controlling scope.
3. Societal Implications of Engineering: Engaging with clients making products for the betterment of society.
4. Communication Skills: regular biweekly review meetings with functional manager as well as communications with client PM's, operators, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications: Qualifications
Enrollment in B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related Engineering Technology degree program
Experience with high-level programming languages and/or embedded systems programming
Proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of database programming and multiple operating systems is an asset
Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Quick learner with a meticulous and objective-driven approach
