What You'll Do: As a design leader and creator, you'll take on key responsibilities such as: Guiding team members in strategy, research, design critiques, and execution tasks. Collaborating with technology, product, and business units to identify user and business needs, transforming them into engaging and intuitive design solutions. Helping shape the product road map and strategy through effective portfolio prioritization. Navigating shifting priorities to offer clear direction on product development. Advocating for customers through human-centered design methodologies, including research and user testing. Championing design-centric enhancements based on research and analysis. Working with cross-functional teams across various locations. Promoting an experience-focused mindset throughout the design process. Resolving conflicts within the team and across projects. Participating in hiring processes by reviewing resumes and conducting interviews. Discovering & Delivering: Facilitating discovery sessions to explore customer pain points and opportunities. Using design tools to develop concepts and foster collaboration. Driving comprehensive product design: Partnering with researchers to analyze customer needs and data trends. Framing design challenges and creating innovative methodologies to address user needs. Creating user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interaction models, leading to prototypes. Planning and conducting workshops to align with business objectives. Contributing to and enhancing our internal design system and best practices. Effectively communicating visual concepts to stakeholders to support business goals. Producing high-fidelity design assets for development and market launch in collaboration with technology teams. Basic Qualifications: At least 6 years of experience in UX design. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing for multi-channel experiences. Expertise in managing complex, data-rich projects. Ability to work with diverse business partners to achieve outcomes. Proficiency with design and prototyping tools like Adobe Products, Sketch, or Figma. Experience contributing to an established design system. Experience leading cross-functional teams. Please note that Capital One will not sponsor new employment authorization for this position. Location-specific salary information is as follows: New York, NY: $172,800 - $197,200 McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 Richmond, VA: $144,000 - $164,400 This role also qualifies for performance-based incentive compensation, including bonuses and long-term incentives.
