Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The Airborne Imaging Systems team is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead. The Airborne Imaging Systems team is responsible for all aspects of airborne EO / IR system development, from the ideation stage through initial production. In this role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to define airborne EO / IR electrical architectures, build prototypes, perform both ground and flight testing, and mature the prototypes into products. As needed, you will also lead small teams of engineers from concept ideation through system definition and development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Act as a technical lead for the development of all electronics aspects of airborne EO / IR systems, including sensor electronics, aircraft interfaces, and power management.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to define and refine requirements based on physics-based models of sensor and system performance.
  • Work closely with internal and external aircraft platform teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
  • Lead the design and development of new PCB designs in collaboration with the electrical engineering organization.
  • Oversee and participate in system testing at laboratory, ground, and flight test levels.
  • Validate physics-based models against laboratory and real-world data.
  • Serve as a primary technical liaison, coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including system-level design, development, and testing.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose complex systems into functional components with clearly defined interfaces and requirements.
  • Extensive experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electronics at both the component and system levels.
  • Proficiency in modern analog and digital electronics, as well as electronic circuit design.
  • Strong laboratory skills, including designing and executing experiments.
  • Proven experience leading system development from initial concept through testing and delivery to customers.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel to test sites as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expertise in communication systems, including RF or optical communication technologies.
  • Advanced domain knowledge in sensing technologies such as EO / IR or LIDAR.
  • A track record of success in leading fast-paced, highly technical, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex design trades while meeting program deadlines.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++.
