The US Pharma Business Unit is building an exciting pipeline across multiple therapeutic spaces including immunology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular, and neuroscience. The New Products team plays a critical role in the US commercial development of our pipeline assets and ensuring that the requirements for the portfolio of pipeline products are clearly articulated. The Associate Director will report directly to the US Marketing Leader for New Products and be primarily responsible for developing the US market strategy to shape the environment for successful new product launches. This role will work across the enterprise with colleagues in US Payer Marketing, Global Commercial, Clinical Development, Data & Analytics and Outcomes Research to support the market shaping strategies and US forecast development for products progressing through Phase 2 and 3 stage gates. This role will primarily focus on the immunology therapeutic space spanning gastroenterology, dermatology and rheumatology; however, as the pipeline evolves, this role may support additional therapeutic spaces. Additionally, this role will participate in business development assessments as part of the commercial core team to provide the US perspective. Ideally, this candidate will have knowledge of the US market, strong scientific acumen, and experience in developing marketing strategies for new products. Primary Responsibilities Develop, evolve, and execute US strategy to shape the environment for pipeline products in the immunology space. Represent the US market at various cross-functional product planning team meetings with global marketing, US policy/advocacy, US payer marketing, medical affairs, outcomes research, market research, global market access, and clinical. Lead the collection of customer insights and engage with scientific leaders to uncover customer needs to drive strategy. Inform target product profile and clinical development plans as part of the GCT. Assess future competitive landscape and scenario plan. Inform stage-gate and development plan go/no-go decisions. Partner to define and implement strategically aligned partnerships and solutions. Education Minimum Requirements BA/BS or relevant experience. Required Knowledge and Skills A minimum of 5 years Pharma/biotech experience or a minimum of 8 years combined strategic marketing, brand management, sales, or business support experience in any industry is required. Knowledge of the US Market including US payer landscape and dynamics. Ability to inform long-range forecasting and strong scientific acumen. Demonstrated experience in market shaping and strategy development. Demonstrated ability to leverage data analytics and/or customer and market insights to make business decisions. Preferred Experience and Skills Knowledge of building strategy with scientific thought leaders, US policy/advocacy stakeholders, or US market access. Strong project management skills as demonstrated by prioritizing activities, using resources optimally, establishing appropriate deadlines, and ensuring on-time delivery. Working knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development process. Influencing without direct authority, navigating complex or matrix organizations, and working successfully with cross-functional teams. Demonstrates a flexible, growth mindset. U.S. Hybrid Work Model Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.
