Job Description
We are looking for a talented, innovative, full-time graphic designer to work a hybrid schedule at our Austin, TX office. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and producing work for a wide portfolio of clients, including but not limited to: branding and identity work, print collateral, social media assets, web and email design, and digital ads.
The ideal candidate works well both within a creative team and as a self-starter. You should be comfortable in all phases of design from conception to presentation. This candidate should have a thorough understanding of Adobe Suite, an innovative, strategic thinking ability, as well as be able to juggle multiple projects at one time while meeting fast deadlines and stated client objectives. This role requires a good eye for layout and typography, and an interest in understanding — and incorporating — the latest trends in print and digital marketing. The ideal candidate should be a patient and fast learner, able to take feedback and adjust a design accordingly. Once a project is complete, this role will also be responsible for articulating the intentional choices behind any project during the internal review process or a client-facing presentation.
Experience Required skills:- 2-4 years of relevant design experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study
- Moderate to complete knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Moderate to complete knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience with designing in Canva
- Experience with understanding and executing brand/identity standards
- Ability to comfortably manage various projects simultaneously
- Ability to consistently deliver work on-time, in a deadline-oriented environment
- Experience with Adobe After Effects, Final Cut, and/or Premiere Pro
- Experience with social media platforms
- Experience working closely with web developers
- Experience with photography and/or videography
- Produce eye-catching, compelling, and effective designs as directed in the creative brief, including:
- Logo designs and brand guide creation
- Print collateral (flyers, brochures, paper systems, direct mail, white papers, etc.)
- Website and email design
- Digital ads (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Google, etc.)
- Translate established brand standards into new and creative ideas
- Create social media content across a variety of platforms
- Collaborate with web developers during the implementation of design into websites and email
- Stick to timelines while ensuring a high quality of work
- Present concepts and work with professional and strategic rationale
- Turn feedback from supervisors and clients into even better work
- Help maintain the asset library to enable easy access to brand assets and completed deliverables
- Prepare final print-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing
- Stick to timelines while ensuring a high quality of work
- Demonstrate proactive solution-based thinking and delivery
- Start projects quickly, change tasks at a moment’s notice, and complete work on deadline
- Manage multiple brand identities and content requirements at once
- Collaborate with creative manager and other creative team members to take or assist on projects where needed
- Answer all emails and messages promptly
- Proactively seek out answers to questions on project briefs or assets required to finish a project
- Take detailed notes during client kickoffs or while receiving feedback
- Present concepts and work with professional and strategic rationale
- Guide clients through the creative process from start to finish and answer questions confidently
- Exemplary written and verbal communications skills
- Understands — and incorporates — the latest trends in design, layout, typography, color, and rmore
- Has a working knowledge of current events, cultural references. communication styles, and trends
- Stays current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards regarding print and brand design, social media, and digital marketing
- Is able to message to different generation and audience groups
- Explore new platforms, design tools, software, or other resources and their benefit to Catalyst/creative team
- Be willing to self-start, self-teach, and learn new skills or information on your own time/effort
