The hands-on Head of IT Infrastructure Technology manages operational availability of Technology Infrastructure network, Technology Infrastructure systems, and technology Service vendors. The candidate must have hands-on skills, capability to manage, implement, and operate in the IT infrastructure area, preferably in a multi-national company. The candidate must be highly knowledgeable with industrial infrastructure networks in large enterprises, virtualization, compute systems, and technology solutions from Cisco, FortiNet, PaloAlto, Meraki, and other global providers.
This role will provide hands-on Technology Infrastructure management and support, available for on-call L2 support, manage and support local IT team members as well as other cross-functional departments. You will help resolve implementation and integration issues using your competence, local and remote teams, service providers, and communicate with Sr management to drive business objectives.
This position is based in Pier 400, in Los Angeles, CA and is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Manage IT Infrastructure Network & Systems, people, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and local team.
- Responsible for industrial network competence, virtualization, monitoring & management systems, wireless and endpoint configuration, design, and management.
- Evaluate requirements for new infrastructure technologies, services, or components.
- Implement an approach to address reliability, security, performance, and infrastructure best practices.
- Manage, deliver, and own knowledge of inter-system protocols (SQL Connections, RPC, Web Services) and guide, troubleshoot, and isolate issues.
- Demonstrate strong management skills and the ability to marshal resources and technologies; communicate, schedule, and implement to manage large- and medium-scale projects.
- Manage priorities, minimize downtime, plan maintenance and upgrades, OS patching, and automated configuration changes.
- Mentor team members in technology and network operation, management of procedures, SOPs, and act as an escalation point for complex issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineers, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and IT vendors to ensure smooth operation of IT infrastructure.
- Exhibit strong leadership and team management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Education: Engineering degree and certification in Project Management, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum eight (8) years of technology infrastructure management, including management of people and functions. Project management experience.
- Skills: Competent in Infrastructure Systems - VMWare technologies, vCenter, vSphere, Windows technologies, ADFS, and Group Policies. Strong experience in Infrastructure Network, switching concepts, spanning tree, VLAN concepts, interior and exterior protocols. Experience with SD-WAN, WAN, Firewall concepts and architectures, IPS, as well as remote access methods. Cybersecurity practices and technologies, 3rd party security providers. Proven experience in configuring and managing network infrastructure and security solutions, including Palo Alto, Cisco, Meraki, Zscaler, and Fortinet.
- Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a focus on the best needs for the business and cost containment.
- Ability to work well and communicate, especially under pressure.
- Cisco or equivalent certifications. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) certification is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with client focus and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

$175,000 to $200,000

The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
