We are seeking a driven and self-motivated Construction Design Technician for a premier company with excellent benefits! This is a Direct Hire opportunity and full-time.

Wage: Based on experience 45k-85k

Schedule: Monday through Friday starting at 7A.M.

Job Overview:
The Construction Design Technician is responsible for developing and managing 3D and 2D models of electrical systems to support construction planning and execution. Using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) techniques, this role ensures design accuracy, optimizes workflows, and promotes collaboration between teams. The VDC Technician will work closely with project teams, PLD specialists, and field personnel to support efficient and precise project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model electrical systems (raceway, circuiting, equipment setting) using Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
• Create 3D models from 2D CAD plans.
• Produce detailed drawings, documents, and models based on design information.
• Review drawings to ensure they meet specifications, standards, and codes.
• Maintain and update model documentation, including specifications and as-built records.
• Participate in coordination meetings and resolve design issues.
• Generate build documents for field construction and prefabrication.
• Assist in maintaining VDC standards, templates, and libraries.
• Provide technical support to field teams and assist with troubleshooting model-related issues.
• Train internal teams on BIM and VDC software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
• Additional duties as assigned.

• 1-3 years of experience in VDC, BIM, or CAD modeling in construction or electrical industries.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred, but not required).
• Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD; familiarity with other BIM software is a plus.
• Strong understanding of electrical system design and construction workflows.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• High attention to detail and precision in model elements and drawings.

• Extended periods of sitting at a desk, working with BIM and CAD software.
• Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and office equipment.
• Ability to focus on detailed digital models for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, and perform occasional bending or stretching to access files or equipment.
• May require occasional site visits to construction projects, involving walking or standing on uneven surfaces and exposure to outdoor conditions.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required during site visits (hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots).
