Our dynamic KFC team is rapidly growing to build the next generation of digital experiences to keep our hungry customers full of chicken sandwiches, pot pies, and amazing dipping sauces. To do that we need to support our U.S. customers with simple and cohesive experiences both on KFC.com and the app. We are seeking out a UX Designer that can bring fresh ideas to the table and help make the customer experience more pleasant and intuitive for all users.
But it won’t all be up to you! You’ll partner with amazing team members and agencies who are here to support you, the KFC brand, our guests, and the digital spaces we are creating for them.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interaction Design: Lead design efforts across the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and concept development to prototyping, testing, and final delivery. Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Collaborative Design: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into user-centered designs.
  • Visual Design: Create high-fidelity mockups and detailed annotations that align with the brand's identity and ensure accessibility standards are met.
  • Analytic-led Design: Iterate on designs based on analytic feedback, ensuring that the final product is easy to use and meets user needs. Solving friction points of the consumer and remediating based on best practices.
  • Design Systems: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present design concepts and progress to stakeholders, gather feedback, and advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Understand Technical Requirements: Partner and manage relationships with the engineering team to merge design-led thinking and digital best practices with front-end specifications.
  • Digital Design Experience: Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for mobile apps, websites, self-service kiosks, and digital signage. Ensure the design supports fast decision-making and ease of use in busy, high-volume environments.
  • Adaptability: Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be open to change.
  • Other Duties: As required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years as UX designer, interactive designer, instructional designer, UI designer or similar role.
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating your design process and thinking.
  • Mastery of creative and prototyping tools (Figma, etc).
  • Familiarity with establishing, maintaining, and utilizing patterns within a design system.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, UX best practices, and design heuristics.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and applying those principles in design.
  • Accountable and self-disciplined with a “Get Stuff Done” approach to their work.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Design Systems Experience: Experience building or maintaining design systems.
  • Agile Environment: Familiarity working in an Agile development environment.
  • Front-End Knowledge: A basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to communicate more effectively with developers.
  • A good understanding of QSR customer behavior, ordering flows, and the specific needs of the industry (e.g., menu, checkout, multi-location management, and high-volume service).
