Pay Range: $62,000 - $104,000 for Full-time (Dependent on Experience)

Your Role.
The Bear Creek School is currently seeking to add a member to our teaching team! Teachers are responsible for using a classical Christian education model to teach students, develop virtue, and help each student grow into the individual God intends. The Visual Arts Teacher teaches middle or upper school art classes using a Christian Classical Educational model, instructing students in the elements of art and techniques of various media including painting, print making, drawing, and other art mediums.
We are seeking an individual who will:
- Approach classroom instruction and student interactions from a Christian Worldview
- Collaborate with grade level teams and department members to plan and implement the school’s liberal arts curriculum.
- Actively ensure academic growth in every student by utilizing a variety of instructional techniques
- Build positive partnerships with parents through proactive communication.
- Create a predictable and supportive classroom environment.
- Plan and develop engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices for visual arts instruction.
- Follow through on routine job responsibilities including grading, record keeping, attendance, and lesson planning.
- Participate in collaborative evaluation processes with division head and VP for Academic Affairs
- Attend weekly faculty meetings.
- Be involved in at least one co or extra-curricular responsibility.
- Attend school events outside regular school hours including parent/teacher conferences, curriculum night, arts performances, student socials, open houses, & professional development sessions
- Keep classroom neat and pleasant in appearance.
- Monitors halls, study periods, and lunchrooms with other faculty and staff
- Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Inventory curriculum and supplies and manage the art budget under the oversight of the supervisor requisitioning supplies as needed and approved.
- Collaborate with fine and performing arts department to develop and coordinate specific plans for implementing school curriculum and policy.
- Ability to perform drawing and painting demonstrations in front of students.
- Knowledge of art education differentiated instruction.
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A degree in art education also preferred.
- Teaching credential preferred.
- Thorough understanding of pedagogy and the best practices of education.
- Desire to teach upper school school-aged children and ability to adapt to their developmental status.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, or related software.
- Currently holds CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (with Epinephrine Auto Injector supplement included), or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date.
