We are looking for a Substation Physical CAD Designer to join our team, supporting physical design substation projects in our Atlanta office on a hybrid schedule. Key Responsibilities: Perform advanced drafter/designer tasks to provide CAD support for electrical physical substation engineering projects. Create comprehensive Physical Electrical drawings, including General Arrangement, Electrical Plans, Elevations, Sections, Foundation Plans, Structural Details, Grounding Plans, Raceway Plans, Equipment Vendor Files, and any additional drawings required by project specifications. Assist with overflow CAD tasks for remote offices as needed while coordinating with other CAD leads across Leidos offices. Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited institution preferred; a high school diploma with a Drafting certificate and additional experience may also be acceptable. A minimum of 3 years' experience in drafting and detailing using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Relevant coursework and project work may be considered. Understanding of drafting principles and procedures specific to Substation physical projects. Expertise in manipulating vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and MicroStation. Ability to accurately create and modify drawings based on engineer-provided markups with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in a team setting. Highly organized, efficient, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced engineering/production environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a utility company focusing on substation physical drafting/design. Familiarity with physical design projects for electrical substations. Experience using file sharing and collaboration tools like ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, and similar systems. Ability to comprehend and implement diverse client CAD standards. Experience with 3-D modeling in software such as Autodesk Revit, Inventor, AutoCAD, Bentley Open Utilities, and MicroStation. Your unique career path awaits at Leidos.
