Summary

The Marketing Manager must work collaboratively with marketing colleagues, firm leadership, business development leads, market sector leaders, architects, engineers, and operations staff to develop marketing/proposal materials that clearly demonstrate the value proposition and differentiators of LEO A DALY against competitors in that market sector. This role oversees large volumes of information and requires the understanding of brand, industry issues and standards, and must strategically connect tactical marketing elements to the firm’s larger initiative goals.

Scope of role:

Work-winning is prioritized for this role. As part of the LEO A DALY marketing team, act as a marketing partner to the business (sector leads, MSLs, BD leaders) to support pursuits, knowledge management/content development, special market and client-facing initiatives, etc. in collaboration with capture teams and marketing colleagues.

Collaborate with sector leads and other business leaders to address and support pursuits, including partnering on the pre-positioning (client and business strategy), preparation of proposals, presentations, SOQs, pre-qualifications, alternative delivery, and other marketing-related deliverables.

Liaise with the relevant sector and discipline experts to understand, communicate, and support execution of LEO A DALY services and sector strategy.

Partner with Brand & Comms team in support of LEO A DALY national and studio-level market sector marketing and communications priorities across digital marketing channels, public relations support, thought leadership, conferences/events, and field marketing efforts, balancing the messaging priorities of new business, major initiatives, firm culture, and talent opportunities.

Responsibilities

Independently lead the proposal process from Go/No Go through Interview

Prepare, own, and maintain the proposal management plan.

Lead and/or support planning and development of presentations and interviews of all sizes

Take ownership of non-technical proposal sections working in conjunction with senior staff

With no supervision, coordinate, write, edit/tailor, and perform research for non-technical proposal sections

Ensure solicitation compliance

Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate potential issues/variances

Lead or facilitate kick-off meetings, proposal team check-ins and other proposal milestone meetings

Facilitate and/or participate in Capture Planning activities

Understand business objectives, priorities, and sales strategy, as they relate to the market sector

Suggest teaming partners/subconsultants, as well as qualified internal staff during kick-off/strategy sessions and organization chart development

Serve as a subject matter expert on, advocate for, and actively follow marketing procedures, policies, protocols, and best practices, including standard file management and archiving procedures, as well as Branding Guidelines

Ensure all response materials are archived and tagged within Vantagepoint, uploaded to Joist AI, and the LEO A DALY drives.

Build understanding of market sector, partners, competitors, subconsultants, clients, and industry trends

Foster strong, mutually beneficial working relationships with business development leads, market sector leaders, architects, engineers, and Operations staff both regionally and across all Studios

Act as a group resource and advocate for marketing best practices, policies, and procedures

Coach, mentor, and provide shadowing opportunities to junior staff within the marketing team

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field, preferred, not required

Ten years of experience in A/E/C industry leading proposal efforts

Graphic design sensibility and skills (understanding of how to reflect brand in materials and messaging and understand principles of quality document layout)

Proficiency in use and application of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office and CRM program (Deltek preferred)

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong composition and editing skills. Ability to write compelling prose for a variety of uses and audiences. AP Style required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understand A/E industry, specifically Commercial and Hospitality markets (strong emphasis on hospitality)

Process oriented

Strong interpersonal and client management skills

Strong data management skills

Detail oriented with a focus on internal and external client follow-up and satisfaction

Strong graphic design sensibility

Ability to effectively prioritize a series of tasks to allow for efficient completion of assignment, with minimal supervision

Strong time management and prioritization skills

Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including management staff and support staff.

Passion for what you do and a drive to educate your stakeholders on the power of marketing.

Skill to connect the dots across organizational, strategic, and other business unit objectives and projects to the business unit for which you are assigned.

Intermediate level Adobe Creative Suite skills (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

Salary range for this position varies between $95,000 – $135,000, depending upon applicable experience.
