Content Summary: Network Engineer at Anchorage, for Calista Corporation Calista Corporation Regular JOB SUMMARY The Network Engineer assists in the development and maintenance of network communications. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks, and tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Schedule and install new hardware, systems, and software for network and system infrastructure. Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment and devices for core and/or customer solutions. Build/configure new servers with minimum RAID-5 configuration; configure Cisco switches, routers & firewalls; virtualization with Microsoft Server 2022 and above. Support administration of servers and server clusters. Manage all system backups and restoration protocols. Plan and support network and computing infrastructure. Perform troubleshooting analysis of network and system infrastructure and associated systems. Document network problems and their resolutions for future reference. Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning. Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam. Oversee software and network security to include web filtering, End point protection, IPS, WUG and mobile device management. Ensures that designs, operations, and remediations meet all Cyber Security policies. Ensures that network data is secure and protected from cyber-attacks. Provide training instruction on platforms, equipment and related applications. Participate in Company required training to include user training for phishing. Travel between business locations to provide IT services. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Knowledge of securing networks to minimize the risk of data loss, unauthorized access, and theft. Knowledge of key cybersecurity tools that include encryption, firewalls, access control, authentication, and endpoint security. Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V installation and management. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and Operations Manager. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2022, Office 2021, Microsoft O365 and Windows 11 Enterprise. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft database, spreadsheet, and word processing software. Knowledge of Remote Access products and products such as Citrix and Cisco AnyConnect. IT Technical infrastructure skills such as networks, scripting, database principles, cyber security best practices, etc. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of computer science. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy. Knowledge of DFARs. Knowledge of VLANs and configuration. Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Effective oral and technical written communication skills to effectively communicate information to others as well as to present information in front of a group. Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc. Strong customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. Ability to convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas. Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Calista's goals. Ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Highly self-motivated; able to work on own initiative. The ability to work effectively in a stressful environment. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Information System Management, Computer Science or related field and minimum of 5 years' IT experience; 10 years' IT experience with at least 4 years' experience in Network Administration may be substituted for degree. Cisco Certified Network Association (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Profession (CCNP preferred. Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) preferred. Microsoft MCSE Certification preferred. Related experience using Microsoft network applications, specifically Hyper-V, SCCM and Operations Manager, Windows Server 2022, Office 2022, O365 and Windows 11 Enterprise required. Related experience using software and remote access packages such as Microsoft Office Suite required. Related experience with DNS and DHCP implementation and configured required. Related experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2019 preferred. Training or experience in using Deltek products such as Costpoint and Time and Expense, Citrix, Windows Servers (2022 and above), Microsoft Office 365, Unified Communications and VoIP, SAN, Cisco routing and firewalls, and local area network support strongly preferred. Dell server hardware, especially Dell Blade Infrastructure experience strongly preferred. Cisco UCS and Pure Storage hardware, Cisco Blade Infrastructure and Pure Storage experience preferred. Experience with infrastructure skills such as networks, scripting, database principles, etc. preferred. Experience with Dell Blade Servers, Cisco USC-X, Pure Storage, SANS and NAS configuration and upgrades preferred. Proven work experience in an area that required high levels customer service. Ability to pass a background, drug, and reference check.
