SUMMARY/SCOPE:
ThePart-Time Graphic Designer serves as a designer, creative collaborator, andcontent developer that communicates the mission, vision, and values of Hardin-SimmonsUniversity for 25 hours a week. The Part-Time Graphic Designer will plan,create, and produce printed and electronic collateral which supports thestrategic initiatives of the university and upholds branding and identitystandards to distinguish the university from competitors. This position willwork alongside the creative services team including the project coordinator forassigned projects and all artwork with be overseen by the Creative Lead/SeniorGraphic Designer and proofed by the Director for University Marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developdesign concepts for university clients, including Admissions, Advancement,Alumni, and Athletics, based on research of best practices and tactics whichadvance the creative design and messaging of HSU.
Reviewprojects and proofs with clients to refine concepts, content, and goals.
Partnerwith the project coordinator to follow along with project timelines,assignments, and the completion of a project.
Assistthe Creative Lead/Senior Designer on larger-scaled projects and review allfinal proofs through the Creative Lead/Senior Designer and the Director forUniversity Marketing.
Collaboratewith the creative services team to discuss new ideas, production processes, issuesrelated to project intake, collaborative participation, quality control, andbudget optimization through biweekly meetings, as needed.
Attendweekly Marketing meetings to discuss assigned projects and give weekly progress reports.
Supportthe implementation and monitoring of university design and branding standardsacross print and electronic materials.
Createcontent for print and electronic projects, giving special attention to thegeneration of original layouts, illustrations, and informational or datagraphics for a variety of assignments from substantial publications tostand-alone visuals.
Meetclient project goals, design requests, development milestones, finished productdeadlines, and budgets.
Organizegraphic resources in the university's digital asset management system, givingspecial attention to file naming conventions, file tagging, and digital rightsmanagement.
Maintainaccurate records of all project development files, assignments, project notes,and communication with clients, other contributors, and outside vendors throughutilization of the Creative Service Team's project management system(Click-Up).
Otherduties as assigned by the Art Director/Senior Graphic Designer and the Directorfor University Marketing.

AdobeCreative Suites Experience is required.
One tothree years of graphic design experience in a professional setting preferred.

All hours worked beyond 40 hours ina single work week will be compensated at time and a half, per FLSA guidelines.
Must have andmaintain a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clear driving recordto be insurable under the university liability policy.
Must be able todrive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
