Key Responsibilities:
Recording & Media Collection
- Manage the recording and collection of all client content, ensuring all broadcasts and guest segments are properly recorded and archived.
- Oversee the built-in scheduling system for managing all media records, including individual and guest recordings.
- Support live and breaking news productions by ensuring essential footage is recorded and readily available.
Digital Asset Management & Metadata
- Implement and maintain metadata taxonomy, ensuring all recorded media is accurately titled and cataloged in the DAM system.
- Add markers and metadata to recorded content for easy search and retrieval.
- Assist producers by providing deliverables on request, such as retrieving specific show recordings based on date and time.
Media Fulfillment & File Organization
- Respond to media requests, such as retrieving and delivering specific segments or full show recordings to internal teams.
- Maintain file organization, including cleaning up outdated or duplicate files and ensuring proper storage of archived content.
- Provide user support when team members have difficulty locating or accessing assets in the system.
Content Distribution & Broadcast Coordination
- Work with Master Control to provide necessary content for playout, ensuring that all required files are supplied 24 hours before airtime.
- Manage file uploads, organization, and delivery to ensure seamless broadcast operations.
- Supply content to external partners, ensuring all formatting and metadata requirements are met.
Storage Maintenance & System Upkeep
- Ensure adequate storage capacity on local servers and DAM systems, archiving files to cloud storage as needed.
- Work with vendors and IT teams to maintain system updates and resolve any technical issues.
- Assist with ongoing data clean-up efforts, ensuring efficient storage management.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in digital asset management, media operations, or a related role in TV broadcast media.
- Expertise in media asset management, file-based workflows, and metadata organization.
- Familiarity with newsroom and broadcast operations, including scheduling and file delivery workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced media environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with production teams, IT, and external partners.
- Experience working with Master Control or similar broadcast distribution platforms is a plus.
