We're seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior/Staff UX/Front-end Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll build amazing and elegant interfaces that will empower developers and non-developers to programmatically develop the data required to create modern AI applications. Using a combination of strong programming skills and a creative, user-focused mindset, you will have full ownership and responsibility for building, shipping, and maintaining innovative new functionality. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating exceptional user experiences and has exceptional skills in React and TypeScript.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable, performant, and maintainable front-end architecture using React and TypeScript
- Translate complex UI/UX designs into high-quality, pixel-perfect, and reusable components
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction and user experience
- Drive best practices for accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility
- Establish and maintain a robust front-end codebase, enforcing clean code principles and design patterns
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration
- Proactively identify technical challenges and propose solutions to enhance the front-end ecosystem
- Evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve development workflows
- Conduct code reviews, ensure high code quality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's technical skills
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance and production issues
- Work a hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in our Redwood City HQ or the SF office
- 6+ years of professional experience in front-end development, with extensive experience in React and TypeScript
- Deep understanding of HTML5, and CSS3, and modern CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind)
- Strong experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, React Context API)
- Detailed understanding of RESTful APIs and integrating them into front-end applications
- Expertise in responsive design, adaptive design, and accessibility standards
- Experience with performance optimization for web applications
- Strong experience with front-end testing frameworks - Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable front-end applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership skills and experience mentoring and guiding team members
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions that align with business goals
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment
- Ability to prototype and iterate quickly around sophisticated user workflows
- Experience with design systems and building reusable component libraries
- Knowledge of server-side rendering frameworks (e.g., Next.js)
- Self-motivation, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn
