Job Description
On-site: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our lab technician team! On this team, we contribute to that vision by supporting the development of groundbreaking electric and autonomous driving technology through set-up and execution of vehicle audio and antenna reception testing. This testing allows for the early identification of performance issues as part of the General Motors Global Vehicle Development Process.
The Role:
Our Audio and Antenna Performance lab technician role will provide the opportunity for you to showcase your skills and expertise in RF and Wireless related development and testing activities. You will work hand in hand with Engineers from cross functional teams iterating through the development and validation phases of new and unique feature and product launches. This position will require off-shift and cross-shift availability to enable continuation of performance evaluations following 1st shift technician departure.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for setup and vehicle/subsystem preparation for Antenna Test Systems.
- Responsible for performing evaluations and data collection alongside Engineering support.
- Responsible for data preparation for Engineering Report generation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 year Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or Electrical/Electronics Engineering OR Equivalent Military experience in relevant field will also be considered.
- 3+ years experience working in a garage or laboratory environment.
- 3+ years experience performing full vehicle RF testing.
- Valid drivers license.
Preferred Requirements
- 3+ years experience in vehicle electronic diagnosis.
- Ability to read vehicle electrical schematics.
- Experience supporting vehicle root cause.
- Knowledge of various automotive connectors, terminals, locks used by GM.
- Proficient technical skills e.g., MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.), SharePoint, Outlook.
- Strong communication skills; including the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both multi-functionally and cross-culturally.
