The Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a Broadcast Section Senior Supervisor (Audio Production). Duties

Supervises and coordinates Broadcast technicians and audio production personnel in the Radio department. Actively participates in daily operations of the radio division of SRS. Manages audio equipment and ensures that they meet the final production requirements. Provides training, guidance and support, and a clear direction to ensure high quality sound production. Implements and updates production policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience

  • Five to eight years of technical production experience in radio/television, including experience in the production area supervised.

Required Special Skills/ Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the operational and maintenance characteristics of radio and audio/video recording equipment.
  • Ability to set up conferencing software for use in live video and audio productions.
  • Ability to supervise, schedule, assign, train, and evaluate the work of assigned technical production staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively while working with others, using tact and diplomacy.

Working Conditions

  • Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted.
  • In the event of an emergency, the position may require on-site reporting within 2 hours.
  • Moderate (carrying of items less than 50 pounds).
  • Work requires the employee to be outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Working on ladders, scaffolding, or stages.
