As an HFC Designer on the Telecommunications team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) networks to deliver high-speed broadband services.
This role involves:
- Creating network architectures, ensuring the efficient integration of fiber and coaxial components to meet performance and reliability standards.
- Sizing of serving boundaries using GIS address data; analyze, interpret, and organize large datasets.
- Determine feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises by utilizing parcel, ROW, and easement documentation.
- Determine fiber and coax component allocations.
- Reviewing field staking sheets, as-builts, and field collected data to determine the optimal running line and construction method.
- Analyze aerial imagery and general maps to identify existing utilities or potential obstructions; and produce and review high-quality constructible plan sets using GIS-based software.
The HFC Designer will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and field engineers to support the deployment and enhancement of HFC networks.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read, interpret, create maps and plan sets.
- Ability to edit and create PDF documents (Bluebeam or Adobe skills).
- Associate’s/bachelor’s degree in engineering/design or equivalent work experience.
- General knowledge in OSP construction methods and best practices.
- 3-6 years of Coax/HFC design experience.
- General knowledge of HFC, DOCSIS, and FTTx networks is required.
- Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Software products is preferred.
