Job Description:
We are looking for a System Engineer to analyze user requirements and high-level system architectures to develop detailed system specifications. You will lead design and development activities, provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design, and technology, and guide users in formulating requirements and exploring alternative approaches. Additionally, you will develop technical documentation, system architecture, and design documentation, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure the technical integrity of work performed.
The Radio Frequency System Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:
- The System Engineer analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities.
- Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
- Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develops technical documentation.
- Develops system Architecture and system design documentation.
- Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
- Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Qualifications:
- Fourteen (14) years’ experience as a System Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of additional System Engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years additional experience (total 19 years) for missing or irrelevant Bachelors degree
- Skills:
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) systems with understanding of analog to digital dataflow and conversion processes
- Hardware procurement process
- Preliminary system design with capability to explain system design to stakeholders
- Prior experience with requesting IPs be added to System Security Plans
- Experience with creating and updating engineering and RF antenna drawings and network diagrams
- Capable of creating dataflow diagrams documenting the network connections required for system functionality
- Experience with Confluence/Jira used for communication and documentation
Certifications Required:
- IAT Level 2 for CWIP compliance
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
