Position Summary

The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for ongoing projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other ‘system’ software. Responsibilities include maintenance and debugging of systems software, research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution, and monitoring and tuning of systems software. Functional knowledge and use of z/OS components and detailed knowledge of support products such as tape management, scheduling, security, and monitoring systems are essential.

Key Areas of Focus for this Role

• Provide oversight/review for low complexity assignments.
• Understand how the whole picture aligns to the overall Ensono strategy.
• Work directly with hardware and software vendors on new solutions.
• Review and analyze current client software and requirements to determine the most cost-effective and standard software solutions to be included in business proposals.
• Provide and document problem analysis, resolution, and prevention, designing procedures and best practice techniques.
• Participate in technical projects and contribute to the team's success.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience managing a team within a mainframe environment within a large enterprise or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of z/OS.
• Advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL.
• Advanced knowledge of Unix System Services (USS) file system management and security.
• Experience installing software within Unix System Services (USS).
• Ability to work well as a team member.
• Stress resistant in case of major incidents or emergency situations.
• Very good communication abilities.
• Ability to deal with multi-task issues.
• Methodical and disciplined approach to work.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Initiative and good learning abilities.

Additional Considerations

• Knowledgeable in DB2, CICS, or IMS.
• Understand z/OS services structure, Parallel sysplex, Catalog management.
• Experience with Dynamic Workload Console.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $80,000 to $148,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
