Position Description:

Avarint engineers focus on new development and maintenance of applications that support real-time simulation of an integrated air defense system (IADS), including sensors, command and control (C2), and weapon systems. Your role includes the analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of C/C++ software products. You will develop and document technical specifications based on customer requirements and provide estimates for assigned tasks.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Develop easily maintainable code that meets design specifications and follows industry standards
  2. Design, test, integration, and implementation of new and updated software applications
  3. Troubleshoot, debug, and correct software anomalies
  4. Ensure thorough documentation of enhancements, bug fixes, and new products
  5. Interface with the customer to ensure project requirements are met
  6. Provide information about the code and its behavior to non-technical stakeholders
  7. Explore problems and research various solutions to devise a work plan appropriate to solving the problems

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics
  2. 8 years’ experience programming in common object-oriented languages such as C++, C#, or Java
  3. Proven ability to reason logically and provide rational solutions, with a focus on improving efficiency and quality
  4. Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders
  5. Experience with cross-functional teams
  6. Meets eligibility requirements for a government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Active government security clearance
  2. Domain expertise in effects-based simulation
  3. Domain expertise in operation of C2 systems
