Job Description:

The UX Design team responsible for VMware vDefend product portfolio, part of the newly formed Application Networking and Security Division at Broadcom, is looking to add a highly motivated Product Designer, who shares our real passion for innovating and crafting the best customer experience.

The Designer in this position is expected to work in-person full-time with the immediate team, at Broadcom Palo Alto campus.

As a senior member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Network Security products by designing world-class user interfaces. You will have substantial contribution towards product strategy, and acute evaluation of our impact on customer experience.

You own the delivery of the end-to-end experience of important features in the overall portfolio, from the initial customer research to the specification of user workflows, interactions, and overall experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that we deliver a product that our customers love. You will craft the next level of simplicity in product experience.

Within the design team, you will be part of a highly motivated group of Designers that will transform what used to be a deeply complex, hard-to-use infrastructure to a very simple management process that doesn’t require much training to operate. You operate as a member of a fast-paced start-up team with all the perks of a public company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborating with a lively team of talented Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, Sales, and Customer Support People to drive the design and building of the best Network Security products.
  2. Thinking in terms of design systems and making rationale design decisions.
  3. Using user research, quantitative and qualitative data as your secret weapons to drive and defend design decisions.
  4. Helping inject design thinking and empathy into every nook and cranny of the company.
  5. Creating low to high fidelity prototypes for demos and user testing to validate designs and interactions.
  6. Being an innovator and coach, mentor others to innovate.

Requirements:

  1. Online portfolio with a range of interactive samples of related work experience in User Interface Design and Hands-on Visual Design is required.
  2. Must demonstrate experience and understanding of a product and its users; Have been part of teams that designed and built shipping products.
  3. Have strong working knowledge of design tools such as Figma.
  4. Experience working in Agile development environments.
  5. Take direction and guidance from lead Designers.
  6. Understands business goals in regard to the product area and works to broaden product and domain expertise.
  7. Possess good presentation and verbal communication skills; Must present and communicate their design work effectively.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors in UX, Visual Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related field and 12+ years related experience or Masters UX, Visual Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related field and 10+ years related experience (Preferred).

Compensation and Benefits:

The annual base salary range for this position is $141,000 - $225,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
