Job Summary:
Our Marketing Communications division is dedicated to authentically conveying the IC story. We are seeking a talented and collaborative graphic designer to amplify our impact by joining our team of marketing strategists, designers, writers, communicators, project managers, and multimedia producers.
In this role, you will play a key role in advancing Ithaca College’s brand by creating visually compelling designs for digital and print applications. Reporting to the Art Director, this position carries design projects from start to finish while ensuring consistency, accessibility, and effectiveness across a range of visual communications, and supports the division with management of digital assets. Assignments may include everything from editorial layouts to digital ads, direct mail campaigns to event signage: no two weeks are the same. Job Responsibilities:
Design print and digital materials for a variety of audiences, including print marketing materials, social media assets, event collateral, digital signage, merchandise, and brand assets in alignment with Ithaca College’s brand standards.
Collaborate with team members including creative and art directors, marketers, copywriters, and multimedia producers to develop creative solutions that enhance engagement and communication.
Prepare files for production, ensuring quality and consistency across various media formats.
Participate in collaborative reviews of brand conventions, offering suggestions for evolution based on your experience as a brand guide user.
Support campus partners in their own communications initiatives by designing and maintaining Canva templates within Ithaca College’s enterprise system, and managing design review of high-profile content designed by our campus partners.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal partners to manage and organize Ithaca College’s DAM system (Widen), ensuring accessibility, metadata accuracy, and proper file usage.
Manage content updates for Optisigns, the college’s digital signage system.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably within a brand-driven environment.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and a strong understanding of print and digital production processes.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred skills:
Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and/or digital signage platforms.
Experience in template design. Template management within the Canva environment is a plus.
Ability to brainstorm multiple mediums, and communicate how your designs could translate to video or motion graphics applications.
This job is located in Ithaca, NY.
This position is 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

$63,000 - $65,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
