Job Summary
Mountain America Credit Union (MACU) is a financial institution with over $20 billion in assets servicing states in the west and mountain west areas. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the SVP Chief Marketing Officer leads and oversees the strategic and tactical oversight to traditional marketing, digital marketing, marketing automation, analytics and insights, lead generation, creative services, sponsorships & events, social media, and brand departments. This role ensures the integrity of the Mountain America brand while contributing significantly to revenue generation across multiple functions within the organization.

SCHEDULE

Full Time

Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Set and implement the Marketing strategic plan aligned with organization's overall business strategy.
  • Ensure appropriate plans and contingencies are in place to execute the overall function and organization's strategy, with a strategic planning horizon generally of 3-5+ years.


Revenue and Market Impact:
  • Hold overall revenue responsibility for the functional area and contribute significantly to revenue generation across multiple functions within the organization.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and develop strategies to mutually achieve business goals.
  • Develop marketing strategies by gathering and analyzing data to identify key trends and profitable market segments.


Sponsorship Strategy and Brand Management:
  • Lead the development and execution of the overall sponsorship strategy to align with the company's marketing and business objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate potential sponsorship opportunities that enhance brand visibility and drive business growth.
  • Champion and protect the MACU brand, developing and directing corporate identity plans to further the organization's image and brand in the community.
  • Develop and administer effective member, business, and sponsor relations programs.
  • Ensure all marketing policies and procedures are current and in compliance with laws, regulations, and auditing agencies.
  • Oversee the negotiation of sponsorship contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to review and finalize sponsorship agreements.
  • Partner with public relations and help ensure the brand is protected and consistent in the marketplace.


Digital Marketing:
  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategies, including SEO/SEM.
  • Manage online marketing campaigns and utilize marketing automation tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze digital marketing performance and optimize strategies accordingly.


Customer Insights and Analytics:
  • Conduct market research to understand member needs and preferences.
  • Analyze marketing data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop member segmentation strategies to target specific audiences.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies and decisions.


Leadership and Management:
  • Responsible for the management and development of leaders within the Marketing team.
  • Operate with autonomy on operational and strategic matters concerning the Marketing team and ultimately accountable to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
  • Demonstrate change management skills to adapt to evolving market and business conditions.

Experience
  • 15 years of related Marketing and PR experience.
  • 10 years leadership experience over large teams. Ability to strategically recruit, engage and coach employee performance.


Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships and build partnerships across the business, executive leadership and key functional support areas.
  • Project management experience with the proven ability to develop project plans and drive a diverse group of stakeholders to achieve milestones and deadlines


Computer/Office Equipment Skills

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Managerial Responsibility

Has supervisory/managerial responsibilities that are direct or through work leaders or assistants, typically with a subordinate group of 50+ employees and multiple organizational and cross-functional teams. Estimates personnel needs and assigns work to meet these needs. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned staff. Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and applies company policy.
