Technical Writer


THE POSITION

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear and easily understood product documentation for Lanvera's customers. This includes researching, outlining, writing, and editing new and existing content, as well as collaborating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather information and understand our products. The Technical Writer will produce and maintain high-quality documentation, such as product manuals, user guides, online help content, release announcements, eLearning modules, and video tutorials. This role will also assist in defining standards, style, and terminology, and work effectively with cross-functional teams to implement projects in a timely manner. Additionally, the Technical Writer will ensure that all documentation complies with industry standards and company guidelines.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, plan, write and edit new and existing technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and online help
  • Create eLearning modules and video tutorials to supplement documentation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather and verify technical information
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Development, Client Services) to ensure documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Review user interface text for consistent tone and style
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, clear, and easy to understand
  • Ensure documentation is compliant with industry standards and company guidelines
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding documentation
  • Communicate with internal and external clients to understand their documentation needs
  • Continuously improve the overall quality of the documentation
  • Ensure all documents are accessible for the appropriate users

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience creating technical documentation and communicating technical content to diverse audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Experience using authoring tools such as FrameMaker, RoboHelp, or MadCap Flare
  • Familiarity with software development process and documentation best practices
  • Ability to quickly understand new concepts and develop product knowledge
  • Ability to design and develop instructional material that is, engaging and effective in teaching a subject
  • Ability to clearly communicate the features and benefits of products to different audiences
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical information in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence stakeholders across the organization

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with scalable, internet-facing, multi-tenant applications
  • Experience producing e-learning courses and video tutorials
  • Familiarity with web hosting of e-learning and/or video content
