As a Senior Hazard Communication Specialist, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing tools, templates, and work processes that ensure the creation of compliant safety datasheets (SDSs) and labels for Dow products. Your expertise will be crucial in providing hazard communication consulting, including SDS EMEAI requirements, hazard classification, and identifying substances of concern in our products. Additionally, you will support regulatory intelligence across various businesses.
Responsibilities
- Innovate and Implement: Develop and implement advanced tools, templates, and work processes to comply with Hazard Communication regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Consult and Educate: Provide expert consulting on hazard communication matters and deliver technical training and coaching on Hazard Communication work processes and tools.
- Lead and Represent: Represent the function during internal and external audits and inspections, and lead projects to comply with regulatory requirements such as GHS, Trade Secret, and Poison Center Notification.
- Regulatory Intelligence: Scan, interpret, and implement complex Hazard Communication regulations, and support regional advocacy activities.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead improvements in global work processes and tools, and resolve complex compliance issues.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Toxicology, or related fields.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in product safety/hazard communication, including GHS classification requirements.
Your Skills
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex data and regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
- Problem-Solving: Strong skills in identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex matters clearly.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of SAP EH&S Module and data mining techniques.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of GHS classification requirements and other hazard communication regulations.
- Customer Orientation: A mindset focused on meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
- Leadership: Ability to lead projects, represent the function during audits, and provide training and coaching to others.
