Role Overview

We are seeking a Graphic Designer & Production Coordinator to support our design team by creating engaging layouts for print and digital guides while ensuring projects stay on track, within scope, and on schedule. This role requires strong publication design experience, advanced knowledge of print production, and production coordination skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing multi-page guides, preparing press-ready files, overseeing production processes, and assisting in managing design workflows to ensure high-quality execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Design Team Role

  • Design multi-page layouts for print and digital guides, balancing text, images, and advertisements for clarity and readability.
  • Select and apply typography, colors, and grid systems to create visually compelling and user-friendly designs.
  • Create magazine-style covers and interior spreads, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement.
  • Adapt layouts based on content changes, ensuring flexibility when articles, text lengths, or images shift.
  • Use design software to produce digital layouts for both print and digital publications.
  • Make real-time adjustments to designs, ensuring alignment with editorial, marketing, and client requirements.

Production & Print Preparation

  • Prepare and finalize press-ready files following print and digital specifications.
  • Manage digital color separations and production workflows, ensuring color accuracy across all outputs.
  • Oversee the printing process, ensuring quality control and resolving any production-related issues.
  • Assist with all phases of print production, including scanning, retouching, and preparing images for publication.

Project Coordination & Workflow Management

  • Assist the Creative Director in tracking design projects, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Communicate effectively with proofreaders, designers, and stakeholders to coordinate revisions and approvals.
  • Ensure organized file management, including proper naming conventions, version control, and folder structure.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure cohesive design and content integration.
  • Support design team collaboration, assisting in the implementation of new tools and processes for workflow optimization.
  • Create marketing collateral, including posters, flyers, brochures, and promotional materials.

Technical & Administrative Duties

  • Help maintain and update project tracking systems (Jira, Teams, and external requests).
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to design projects.
  • Review design files for accuracy, catching minute detail errors in formatting, layout, and production specifications before final approval.
  • Help assist in design team meetings, capturing keynotes and action items for follow-up.

Qualifications & Skills

 

Experience & Knowledge

  • 8+ years of experience in publication or magazine-style graphic design.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, including master pages, styles, preflight, and print preparation.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, including color management, CMYK/PMS/RGB/HEX, vector vs. raster, DPI/resolution, and file setup.
  • Experience working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely press submissions.

Technical Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
  • Strong layout, typography, and design skills, with an eye for editorial balance.
  • Ability to combine graphics, written content, and advertisements for engaging layouts.
  • Experience in digital adaptations of print layouts, ensuring consistency across platforms.

Soft Skills & Organization

  • Highly detail-oriented, with a keen eye for spotting errors in typography, alignment, and color accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability, able to adjust designs based on evolving project needs.
  • Excellent time management skills, balancing multiple deadlines and projects effectively.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, ensuring seamless collaboration across departments.
