We're seeking a skilled and creative Video Editor to join our brand creative team and take our video production to new heights. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping ForeFlight's visual storytelling, crafting compelling content that engages, educates, and inspires pilots and aviation enthusiasts worldwide.

You'll create long-form YouTube content, short-form social media videos, podcasts, product tutorials, and promotional materials that engage, educate, and inspire. The ideal candidate is proficient in multicam editing, motion graphics, and post-production workflows, with a strong grasp of YouTube audience retention strategies and optimizing content for social platforms. You must be a detail-oriented editor who thrives under deadlines, excels in fast-paced environments, and consistently delivers polished, high-quality content.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and produce high-quality episodes for various podcast and webinar series, ensuring smooth pacing, clear audio, and engaging visuals for video-based podcasts.
  • Manage post-production for Between 2 Wings interview series and other aviation centric brand engagement programs, optimizing storytelling, multi-camera editing, and graphics integration.
  • Long-Form Content - Edit and enhance educational and aviation-focused videos, optimizing them for audience retention and engagement specifically for YouTube.
  • Social Media Video Content - Create dynamic short-form content, including reels and shorts tailored for platform-specific trends and performance.
  • Explainer Videos & Product Tutorials - Develop clear, visually engaging instructional videos that highlight ForeFlight's features and functionality.
  • Brand Campaign Videos - Assist in the production of promotional and marketing content that aligns with ForeFlight's brand and messaging.
  • Motion Graphics & Visual Effects - Incorporate on-screen graphics, animations, and transitions to enhance storytelling.
  • Multicam Editing & Audio Mixing - Ensure professional-quality editing, color grading, and sound design across all projects.
  • Content Optimization - Implement YouTube best practices, including strong intros, metadata optimization, and audience engagement techniques.
  • Collaborate with Teams - Work closely with the marketing, creative, and product teams to align content with brand goals and audience expectations.
  • Manage Post-Production Workflows - Organize and maintain video assets, ensuring efficient file management and archiving.
Required Technical Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Video Editor, preferably in a tech, aviation, or software-related industry.
  • Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe After Effects
  • Experience with screen replacements, motion tracking, advanced stabilization, and green screen processing
  • Experience in Mocha After Effects a plus
  • Experience working with 10-bit log footage
  • Multicam editing expertise
  • Advanced motion graphics and animation capabilities
  • Experience in color grading, audio editing, and sound design for professional video content.
  • Knowledge of video formats, codecs, and compression best practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Experience editing content optimized for social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc..
  • Proven experience with YouTube podcast editing (portfolio required) and optimization for audience retention
  • Passion for YouTube and current internet trends
  • Experience working with a large subscriber base or following
  • Experience working with creative teams (Videographers, Graphic Designers, Producers)
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and audience engagement across various video formats.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating video editing capabilities
  • Aviation experience or knowledge a plus!

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $73,000 - $90,000.
