Working closely with the Chief Business Development Officer and firm leadership, the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications will drive Foley Hoag's marketing, communications and branding strategies forward in alignment with the firm's strategic goals. The candidate should have a deep understanding of market trends, target audience behavior, and the ability to adapt strategies accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Chief Business Development Officer to outline a long-term marketing plan to achieve firm goals, communicating the firm's distinct value proposition and engaging our target audiences.
  • Assist Chief Business Development Officer with hiring, managing and inspiring a strong team of marketing and communications professionals.
  • Oversee the firm's media and social media relations strategy, ensure successful plan deployment and message consistency.
  • Continue to evolve and evaluate the firm's marketing technology infrastructure, review and assess technology-based platforms that can enhance marketing and business development performance by increasing audience engagement and improving internal efficiencies and effectiveness. Collaborate with the CIO to establish appropriate marketing technology infrastructure.
  • Oversee the maintenance and continual updates to the firm's website, ensuring that it accurately represents the services provided by the firm, enhances our brand, and reflects the firm's professional image; increase effective marketing practices including web-optimization and SEO.
  • Oversee global schedule of events and manage volume to meet resource availability.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to assess and manage workloads, ongoing project prioritization, and resolve coverage needs.
  • Support team training and professional development objectives.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in a marketing and/or business development role in a professional services firm; experience working directly with senior management of a professional services firm desired;
  • Demonstrable ability to manage teams of professionals and simultaneous projects and initiatives and build rapport with constituents across the organization.
  • A strong proficiency in budget planning, allocation and monitoring is important.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to persuade, inspire, influence, and engage with a variety of audiences.; and
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in marketing, communications or a related field.

The compensation range is $195,000 to $244,000 commensurate with related experience and qualifications. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
