How you will contribute to LifeNet Health's success:

The Director, Global Strategic Marketing Communications Develops and manages Global (US and OUS) Digital Strategies (integrated media campaigns) across Marketing Communications (Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations) for LifeNet Health's key franchises (OPO, Clinical/Biologics and LifeSciences). This includes Branding, Content, Digital Channels, Campaigns, Communications, Events, and related Insights & Analytics. Develops and implements comprehensive branding, marketing and PR strategies and tactics to support corporate and departmental business objectives. Serves as the steward of the company brand and maximizes brand awareness, preference and advocacy by synchronizing marketing and communications - including messages and design -- to clearly and consistently convey key attributes of the LifeNet Health brand, and that of its divisions, to target audiences

What You'll Do:

Digital & Content
  • Digital: Develops the capabilities and manages the distribution and investment of content through digital channels. This includes design and management of websites and associated Search Engine Optimization tactics, strategies for customer engagement in social channels such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., development of email outreach campaigns, and management of paid banners. Leads internal and external agencies to deliver on objectives. Partners with other functions (e.g., IS) to develop the technology stack that enable the digital channels. Produces experience metrics, traffic, high engagement, advocacy, and purchase and usage behavior. Content: Develops content strategies that align with business growth goals, customer needs and brand vision. Produces content and annual content calendar. Distributes content with regular cadence. Leads a team of videographers, writers, designers, and strategists to produce creative content that generates high customer engagement across multiple media channels. Attracts site traffic and social followers, drives new sales leads, empowers sales with relevant content to send prospects, and fuels PR and influencer relations.

Branding
  • Develops the Brand Strategy and its operating principles. Identifies the branding insights that resonate with its customers. Creates the branding architecture and experience. Defines the Vision, Positioning, Promise and supporting emotional and functional pillars of the brand. Defines the messages, tone and style elements of the brand. Identifies its champions. Manages the Brand in support of its objectives. Leads internal and external agencies in support of branding activities. Creates awareness, preference and advocacy and ultimately elevating the Brand to Iconic status.

Advertising Campaigns, Events, Partnerships and Sponsorships:
  • Advertising Campaigns, Events, Partnership and Sponsorships - Develops the strategy for Brand and Product Advertising campaigns, especially during the launch of new initiatives, in partnership and support of business objectives. Leads the creative process from brief to execution management. Manages the media buying. Leads internal and external agencies to deliver on objectives. Creates brand awareness, produces tactical campaign metrics and analyzes return on investment (ROI). Also, creates synergies between digital and live events to amplify the Brand and meet its objectives. This includes conferences and other external-facing events. Collaborates with external partners to elevate the Brand and product stories. Manage relationships with external organizations and societies for Marketing and Communication purposes.

Talent Agencies, Processes & Training:
  • Identifies, recruits and manages organizational needs for internal talent, freelancing talent and Digital, Marketing, etc. agencies. Qualifies agencies and ensures appropriate agencies guidelines such as creative quality and ROI. Manages processes related to development and creation of (Marketing and Sales) content including review and approval of content. Creates organizational governance forums and councils to manage projects and processes. Provides appropriate training and education related to strategic digital marketing

Manage People and Teams
  • Supervise, guide, direct, and develop a team of professionals and lead the Global Strategic Marketing Communications function in impacting the long-term success of the company. Work with the VP & GM, LifeSciences to plan the growth and development of a high performing quality team in line with the organizational strategy. Using the established people processes (performance, development, succession, and career) to ensure that the team's level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards

Customer Insights & Analytics
  • Develops deep knowledge of customers and key stakeholders to highlight new Brand and customer insights. Measures and tracks brand and customer related analytics across digital channels. Institutes a culture around the customer being at the center and serving its needs and wants.

Communications / Public Relations
  • Engages in relationship management and reputation building through news releases, press conferences, and featured stories in the general public. Develops, implements and analyzes PR programs across the organization, working closely with division leadership to ensure alignment with corporate brand and strategic objectives. Manages all media activity, including proactive editorial planning and placement, preparing company subject matter experts, provide support to and, if necessary, acts as company spokesperson to respond to media inquiries, identify opportunities and assess threats. Provides support during crisis management. Ensures Brand credibility. Integrates PR into advertising campaigns. Produces metrics associated with Earned Media.

Strategic Leadership
  • Translates the corporate strategic and tactical business plans into strategic and operational plans. Develops and leads projects that support Corporate goals and objectives by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicates and coordinates requirements; evaluates milestones and accomplishments; evaluates optional courses of action and direction


What you'll bring (Minimum Requirements):
  • Experience: Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
    • 10+ years' Experience directly managing and leading others
    • 7+ years' Experience in corporate or agency setting, including experience with content production (digital and print), traffic management and graphic design
    • 5+ years' Experience developing and executing comprehensive marketing and public relations plans, including measurement and analysis of the effectiveness of those plans

  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic planning and interfacing throughout the product lifecycle especially for complex or critical products. Impact of regulatory changes on internal processes and products Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between department/function and business strategy.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location and the candidate's qualifications including prior relevant experience.

The pay range for this position in Virginia Beach is $115,356 - $158,808

*Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidate's knowledge and relevant experience.

*This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on certain criteria being met.
