Meet the team:
Dexcom is seeking a Staff Facilities Engineer, Audio Visual (AV) Solutions Architect to lead the strategy, design, installation, and maintenance of AV systems across multiple global facilities. This senior role requires a visionary engineer who can oversee complex AV projects, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure high-performance AV solutions that align with the company’s evolving needs.
Where you come in:

Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and lead the AV strategy across Dexcom’s global facilities, ensuring alignment with overall IT and business objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners to deliver cutting-edge AV solutions that enhance communication and collaboration.
- Provide thought leadership and stay ahead of industry trends to future-proof Dexcom’s AV infrastructure.
AV Design Engineering & Postproduction:
- Lead the design of high-quality AV systems for conference rooms, huddle spaces, training centers, and large venues.
- Ensure AV solutions are scalable and future-ready, with a focus on high-quality video conferencing, sound systems, digital signage, and integrated AV control systems.
- Define system requirements, evaluate, and recommend the best technologies, while overseeing the technical design process alongside IT Technology, Network, and Infrastructure teams.
- Hands-on knowledge of industry standard pre and postproduction including broadcasting technology.
- Hands-on operating and maintaining of postproduction firmware and software, including but not limited to managing video/still cameras, teleprompter, green screen, lighting, and sound controls.
- Lead as POC for Media Rooms, and closely liaise with EAs and ELTs in support of various onsite production of live filming and broadcasting events.
System Integration:
- Manage seamless integration of AV systems with Dexcom’s IT networks, ensuring full compatibility and functionality.
- Collaborate with IT, facilities, and other key stakeholders and support teams to ensure efficient installation and deployment.
- Troubleshoot system integration challenges and ensure that AV solutions are robust and reliable.
- Develop and implement integration protocols to ensure consistent performance across all facilities.
- Conduct regular system audits to identify and resolve potential integration issues.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure AV systems meet security standards and protocols.
Project Management:
- Lead AV project management efforts, including scope definition, timeline development, resource planning, and budgeting.
- Ensure that all AV projects meet business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and report on project status.
- Develop detailed project plans, including risk management strategies and contingency plans.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Team Leadership and Vendor Management:
- Manage internal AV teams and external contractors responsible for installation, system integration, and support.
- Build strong relationships with AV vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop and mentor team members, ensuring they have the skills and training to support Dexcom’s AV systems.
Maintenance and Support:
- Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of AV systems, ensuring they are always operational and optimized.
- Implement and manage support protocols, including issue resolution, equipment upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
- Establish best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for AV system management.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of AV equipment and spare parts.
- Coordinate regular training sessions for end-users to ensure effective use of AV systems.
- Monitor system performance and user feedback to proactively address potential issues.
- Ensure timely updates and patches for AV software and firmware to maintain security and functionality.
Innovation and Optimization:
- Evaluate new AV technologies and identify opportunities for upgrades, ensuring that Dexcom’s AV infrastructure remains innovative and scalable.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the AV and IT teams to enhance the end-user experience.
What makes you successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; 8+ years of experience in AV systems design, integration, and support; demonstrated leadership of internal and external AV engineers.
- Expertise in AV technologies, including video conferencing systems (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams), sound systems, projectors, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron).
- Strong background in AV integration with IT networks, including IP-based AV solutions, and postproduction.
- Proven experience managing large-scale AV projects, including CapEx/OpEx, and vendor management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist).
- CTS-D (Design).
- Crestron.
- Extron.
- CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association).
- Experience managing AV systems in large corporate or multi-facility environments.
- Knowledge of cloud-based AV solutions and remote management tools.

Experience and Education:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience. At this level a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience.
Travel Required:
