About The Position
Join our marketing and communications dream team for the 51st Seattle International Film Festival. We are a group of hard-working marketing pros with a passion for all things cinema. The Festival Social Media Content Creator is responsible for capturing video and photo content at Festival events and creating engaging social content. This position focuses on building awareness of, and excitement for, the 51st Seattle International Film Festival and fostering engagement among SIFF’s online community.

Dates of Employment: April 14–May 25, 2025
Reports to: Social Media Manager
Compensation: $21.00/hour

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to execution of the social media strategy, with SIFF social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, BlueSky, TikTok, Letterboxd, YouTube, Flickr
  • Follow the editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, engaging, and is approved and released on time
  • Assist the Social Media Manager and Festival Materials Coordinator when needed to ensure key events are covered, and receive, upload, and organize photos in Dropbox post-event
  • Capture video and/or photos of Festival events—which includes interviewing subjects including filmmakers, covering key event moments, etc.— and turn them around quickly
  • Contribute to writing content such as social media or blog posts
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s with major in a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Strong storytelling skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and how each can be deployed
  • Experience capturing video content in social environments
  • As one of the voices of the organization, ability to exercise good judgment and discretion at all times is required
  • Experience interviewing subjects for video or print, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with video editing as well as Canva, with an understanding of basic layout and graphic design principles
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Be based in the Seattle area

Work Environment: Hybrid. This temporary position will be required to be onsite for Festival screenings and events at our venues in Seattle, and may work onsite at our Seattle office (SIFF Film Center) and/or remote, as agreed upon with supervisor.
