About the Role
Your Responsibilities
- Campaign Management - Own the optimization and day-to-day management of some of our core digital media channels - bid & budget management, target audience development & refinement, trafficking & operations, and creative iteration. Partner with agency & analytics teams to implement experiments, incrementality tests to validate channel impact and inform marginal ROAS decisions, ensuring each dollar spent delivers optimal return.
- Process Automation - Identify opportunities to automate processes, working with product, engineering, and analytics teams to build in-house paid marketing tools (e.x. audience automation, creative optimization, campaign building, performance reporting, and forecasting). Develop an effective optimization process to quickly identify and respond to changes in performance.
- Data Analysis - Pull and analyze reports to extract insights and transform those insights into actionable changes that will improve performance. Work closely with the Analytics team to understand the performance of campaigns and tests; develop dashboards to monitor performance over time. Work with measurement partners to constantly evaluate channel incrementality and cost curves.
- Creative - Partner with Brand and Creative teams to produce, refine, and iterate on performance branding assets that tell our story while meeting KPIs. Provide data-driven feedback to inform creative briefs and guide design/copy choices—ensuring each concept aligns with both brand voice and performance goals.
- Vendor Management - Partner with agencies, account partners, and other relevant vendors to monitor performance, explore new platform opportunities, secure access to beta features, and provide value to other Thumbtack teams.
- Forecasting & Finance - Partner with cross-functional finance teams to accurately forecast media spend, reconcile budgets, and align investments with profitability targets.

- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Marketing, Business, Economics, or a quantitative field preferred; 5+ years managing performance and media marketing channels (e.g., OTT, Linear TV, Affiliate, YouTube, Streaming Audio, Display).
- Analytical & Data Driven: Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, vlookups, data templates, dashboards) with a highly analytical mindset. Familiarity with incrementality testing, media mix modeling (MMM), multi-touch attribution (MTA) and other advanced measurement approaches to guide budget decisions and improve marginal ROAS.
- Adaptability & Collaboration: Eager to learn and stretch across digital media marketing functions while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams (data science, marketing analytics, engineering, creative).
- Execution & Detail Oriented: Ability to set and meet aggressive project deadlines with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Communication & Teamwork: Clear, concise communicator who thrives in a diverse, supportive Growth Marketing team.
Bonus points if you have
- Performance Marketing & Scaling New Channels: Proven experience scaling.
- Experience scaling CTV, OLV, Linear TV, YouTube, & Streaming Audio, & Podcasts, with a background in marketplace companies and/or high-growth startups.
- Channel Expansion & Strategy: Expertise in testing new marketing channels from scratch, integrated media/strategy planning (including agency experience), and managing yearly program budgets of $XXM+.
- Marketing Technology & Analytics: Strong experience with marketing technology and analytics tools, plus basic SQL knowledge for data analysis.
- Execution & Growth Focus: Ability to navigate complex, high-growth environments, driving results through data-driven decision-making and strategic execution.

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $121,500 - $148,500.
For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $109,400 - $133,700.
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $103,300 - $126,300. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
