Membership and Development Operations Manager The Capital Jewish Museum is seeking a Communications and Development Associate to join our team at a pivotal moment of our start-up phase. Reporting to the Membership and Development Operations Manager, the Associate will be an integral part of our development and communications operations. They will support essential work in fundraising, membership, media engagement, and digital marketing, while receiving additional training in all of these areas. About the Lillian and Albert Capital Jewish Museum The Capital Jewish Museum is a new Jewish history and culture museum at 3rd and F St. NW, Washington, DC, just a block from the National Building Museum, and short walk from Union Station. The Museum opened its doors to the public in June 2023 and has welcomed nearly 45,000 visitors since opening. The mission of the Capital Jewish Museum is to explore the Jewish experience in the national capital region and inspire audiences to connect across families and communities, reflect on the relevance of history to today, and act on behalf of their communities and values. Duties and Responsibilities Communications Support the management of the Museum’s website, social media channels, e-news program and other Museum communications Assist with press engagement, including the planning and implementation of press events Development Manage elements of the donor database, including gift entry, data hygiene, and reports Help with member communications Assist with the planning and implementation of donor and member events Respond to donor and member inquiries Administer and assist with grants calendar, applications, and reporting Perform prospect research Administrative: Coordinate board and committee meetings and materials Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities Comfort with technology; a plus to have experience with: Database management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, preferably Salesforce Mailchimp or related email platform Canva or other design software WordPress or related content management systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail, including with editing and proofreading Ability to work independently, with good time management and follow-through Knowledge of Microsoft Office Knowledge of Development and/or Communications best practices (preferred) Qualifications BA/BS required At least one year of nonprofit development and database/CRM experience Experience working in a cultural institution preferred Passion for the work and mission of the Museum Salary and Benefits The salary for this position is $45,000 - $48,000. The Capital Jewish Museum offers a generous vacation schedule, and benefits package that includes health insurance (employer pays 75% of employee), Metro Stipend, Life Insurance, and a 403b.
