The Graphic Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing high-quality visual content that supports Bad Birdie’s brand identity and marketing objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of visual storytelling, strong technical design skills, and the ability to create compelling graphics that engage our target audience across various platforms, including social media, website, email marketing, print, and advertising campaigns.
Reporting directly to the Art Director, the Graphic Designer collaborates closely with the Creative Producer, Photographer, Videographer, and other cross-functional teams to ensure all visual assets align with Bad Birdie’s brand identity, messaging, and aesthetic. This position demands creativity, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously—delivering innovative, high-quality visuals while meeting deadlines.
The Graphic Designer plays a crucial role in enhancing brand engagement through design, ensuring all creative output supports the brand’s core pillars: Bold Creativity, Good Times, and Radical Inclusivity. This role requires expertise in graphic design software, typography, color theory, and layout design, as well as an understanding of platform-specific best practices to optimize performance across digital and print channels.
Responsibilities
Design Development
- Create graphics for social media, website, email marketing, in-store signage, and promotional materials, ensuring all assets align with Bad Birdie’s brand aesthetic.
- Collaborate with the Art Director on creative concepts for marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, and brand initiatives.
Brand Consistency and Standards
- Maintain brand consistency across all design outputs by following established brand guidelines and assisting in style guide updates.
- Ensure all visual content is on-brand, relevant to target audiences, and upholds quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Sales and E-commerce teams to understand design needs, timelines, and project goals.
- Communicate design concepts and revisions effectively, incorporating feedback from cross-functional stakeholders.
Content Optimization
- Prepare and optimize visual assets for various platforms, including web and mobile, to ensure quality across formats.
- Stay informed on design trends and best practices to enhance content performance and engagement.
Additional Skills
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Canva for digital and collaborative projects.
- Ability to work with vector graphics, typography, and color theory to create high-quality visual assets.
Strong Understanding of Visual Storytelling
- Ability to craft compelling narratives through design, using composition, hierarchy, and visual flow.
- Expertise in translating brand messaging into engaging graphics that resonate with the audience.
- Knowledge of how imagery, typography, and layout work together to evoke emotion and enhance communication.
Knowledge of Current Design Trends and Platform-Specific Best Practices
- Understanding of digital design trends, including social media graphics, web design aesthetics, and print production.
- Familiarity with platform-specific guidelines for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other marketing channels.
- Awareness of emerging design technologies, such as AI-generated graphics and interactive design.
- Ability to align design work with marketing strategies to drive engagement, conversions, and brand awareness.
- Understanding of branding, brand identity systems, and how design contributes to customer perception.
- Experience in designing for various marketing materials, including advertisements, packaging, and promotional content.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple design projects.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain consistency across campaigns and content calendars.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketers, copywriters, and photographers.
