Job Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Marketing and Communications

Position Overview:
The St. Louis Area Foodbank (SLAFB) is seeking an organized, energetic, and creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team. This role will support cross-functional initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the Foodbank's mission and supporting internal fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor in areas including social media management, content creation, story writing, website editing, and internal/external communications.
Communications
•Create, design, and write compelling content for various platforms, including newsletters, annual reports, blogs, flyers, social media posts, and other communication materials.
•Assist with internal communications to enhance employee engagement, promote values-based initiatives, and support organizational priorities.
Social Media and Digital Marketing
•Follow brand guidelines to design and schedule content across all digital platforms.
•Analyze digital content performance and use data-driven insights to optimize strategy and engagement.
•Monitor and engage with the Foodbank's social media followers across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
•Provide support for website content management and assist with departmental content update requests.
•Ensure website and social media content are optimized for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and adhere to industry best practices.
•Contribute to the creation of digital fundraising materials, including email campaigns, donation forms, and graphic design elements.
•Maintain and curate the photo and video asset libraries for content use.
Project Management
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure materials bearing the SLAFB brand are aligned with organizational vision and mission.
•Manage the asset library and SharePoint files, ensuring easy access for team members.
•Assist in routing project requests and collecting necessary information to ensure timely delivery.
Media Relations
•Assist in the creation and distribution of press releases and media alerts.
•Serve as photographer/videographer for events or initiatives as requested.
Other Duties:
•Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field.
•2 - 3 years of relevant marketing/communications experience preferred.
•Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
•Experience with Content Management System (CMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), or email management software.
•Familiarity with social media analytics, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is preferred.
•Experience with WordPress and SharePoint is a plus.
•Knowledge of photography/videography and editing software is a plus.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
•Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
•Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background checks.
Work Schedule:
•Monday - Friday onsite at the SLAFB facility and in the community as needed.
•However, flexibility will be granted as appropriate in accordance with the Foodbank's Remote Work Policy.
•Special events and other projects related to this position may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours and work.
•Meeting attendance may require overnight travel.
