Job Overview

We are seeking a visionary Creative Director to elevate our brand through compelling visual storytelling and strategic direction. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Creative Director will oversee the creative vision and execution of all marketing and branding initiatives.

The Creative Director would be responsible for developing and managing the concept and artistic vision for firm creative projects across various channels, including brand identity, websites, advertising, print and digital campaigns, live events, online experiences, and video content. The Creative Director will ensure brand consistency and alignment with the firm’s strategic priorities, while managing budgets, a creative team, and stakeholder relationships.

This role demands a leader with expertise in design, branding, and digital media, capable of inspiring a team to produce high-quality work. The Creative Director will be responsible for guiding and mentoring the creative team, collaborating with internal and external designers, and fostering a positive, innovative work culture. Effective communication, leadership, and teamwork skills are essential, as is strategic decision-making, project management, and analytical skills.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement a cohesive creative strategy that aligns with the firm’s brand and business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of creative professionals.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, websites, social media content, and advertising campaigns.
  • Oversee the production of multimedia content, including videos, animations, and interactive media.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and teams across the firm to ensure consistency and effectiveness in all communications.
  • Manage the creative process from concept to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the firm’s creative output.
  • Present creative concepts and strategies to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints and communications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to the creative team.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of creative campaigns, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Organize and lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Work additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience leading creative teams in a fast-paced, demanding environment with a positive mindset, preferably within a professional services environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of art, design, marketing, and branding principles.
  • Proven success in crafting and executing multi-dimensional brand strategies.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in design, branding, and digital media.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software such as Creative Suite, Canva, and video editing.
  • Familiarity with Wordpress, Drupal, Fliplet, and CRM platforms.
  • Experience with online meeting platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Hangouts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Promote positive work habits, including effective and timely communication, teamwork, and respect for colleagues.
  • Contribute to providing the highest quality of service to internal and external clients.
  • Take appropriate initiative and ownership of job responsibilities while ensuring assignments are performed successfully and on time.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and work regularly scheduled hours.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, type, and handle light lifting in a professional office environment.
  • Comply with safe work practices including compliance with the firm’s COVID-19 policies and safety measures.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $225,000. Actual salaries will depend on a candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, and skillset. In addition, Blank Rome provides a comprehensive suite of benefits to promote health and financial security, including medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as life, accident, and disability insurance plans.
