The salary for this position is:
The office of Government, Policy and Public Relations (GPPR) directs communications between the Department, the Governor’s office, the Legislature, Congress, other agencies and the general public.
This position is responsible for supporting CDLE communications efforts through video and photography, web, and graphic design support.
- Videography and photography support: Utilize current video and photo industry standards to create storyboards, shoot and produce video content for communications.
- Graphic design support: The designer will be responsible for creating contemporary design concepts for various projects, collaborating closely with our design and communications teams. They will produce a range of marketing materials including brochures, flyers, annual reports, and social posts.
- Website support: Provide support to Lead Designer in maintaining and updating content for external CDLE website and intranet. Assist with content migration for both sites including running analytics and reports.
- File management: Maintain publications inventory for all department communications materials. Manage and maintain graphic and video files.
- Social Media: Assists in maintaining content on division social media sites.
Residency Requirement: This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only: Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position. Experience must include graphic design, knowledge of Adobe creative suite;
OR
Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years. We will substitute a degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or Communications on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of content management systems like Drupal
- Videography and photography experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Knowledge Google or Microsoft office suites
Required Competencies:
- Creative suite software: Use of Adobe Creative Cloud software suite to aid in graphic design. Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere and/or After Effects.
- Market research: Gather, assess, and represent data about target market and customers in order to facilitate strategic development and feasibility studies. Identify market trends.
- Graphic design: Knowledge of basic guiding graphic design principles and industry standards. Experience with design techniques to create a visual representation of ideas and messages.
- Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Judgment and Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Accessibility: Knowledge of current WCAG accessibility standards. Continued research of accessibility techniques and methodology to incorporate on all digital and web collateral.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be a Colorado resident at time of application.
