The Lee County Library System is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated professional with a strong background in information technology project management and library system development. In this role, you will lead and oversee technology operations within the Library Department, ensuring that library technology is effectively supported and maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Spearhead technology projects from inception to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
- Policy Development: Create and implement policies and procedures related to library technology. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Resource Accessibility: Facilitate access to a comprehensive range of library technology and resources for both public use and staff operations.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with internal stakeholders, IT professionals, and library staff. Provide leadership and mentorship to achieve project goals.
Education and Experience:
- You’ll need a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university or college. The relevant fields include Project Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Library Science or a closely related degree.
- Two years of related work experience in technology project management, library technology, or a closely related field.
Preferred Experience:
- It’s beneficial if you have two years of experience working with Library Technology.
- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Licensing:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills, including project management abilities.
- Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills are crucial.
- Flexibility in location may be required based on organizational needs.
Work Schedule:
- Your workdays will be Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
