Marketing And Public Relations Specialist

Overview:

The Marketing/Public Relations specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining marketing strategies and initiatives in alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives, directing and coordinating the Bank’s marketing research, advertising, promotion and daily marketing activities to increase community awareness, attract new customers and promote the Bank’s favorable image. This role involves overseeing campaigns and managing communications to enhance the Bank’s reputation and visibility while collaborating with other departments.

Responsibilities and Results:

  • Direct and coordinate all marketing activities such as advertising, promotions, sales and research.
  • Create, design and administer bank promotional campaigns and marketing budget.
  • Manage the Bank’s website, social media sites, online business listings and online advertising campaigns.
  • Work alongside outside marketing firm to manage events, public relations and community involvement.
  • In-depth understanding of marketing and public relations.
  • Ability to perform duties without specific direction, given adequate guidelines. Apply good judgment in decision-making.
  • Develop, publish and distribute all press releases in a timely manner alongside outside marketing firm.
  • Design, print and monitor the Bank’s branches with posters, signs and brochures.
  • Utilize analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of marking initiatives, making data-driven decisions to optimize future campaigns.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns using data-driven insight to optimize strategies and maximize ROI.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership, summarizing key metrics, accomplishments and challenges in marketing and community relations.
  • Assist with development of a marketing plan that aligns with the Bank’s strategies.
  • Attend and actively participate in various Bank committees as required.
  • Must be able to keep current of banking industry, banking systems and digital trends.
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with industry laws and bank policies, collaborating closely with internal teams to maintain consistency and integrity in our marking efforts.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • Associate’s degree in marketing or a business related field required;

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in managing marketing and/or public relations programs with a preference for candidates with banking experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Time management and organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing and possibly stressful environment.
  • High level of reliability, self-motivation and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Publisher and/or other design related programs.
  • Knowledge in bank products and services.
  • Experience managing social media programs and content management systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate via phone and e-mail.
  • Uses discretion and good judgement, shows patience with others.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to keep all sensitive information confidential and uphold cyber security awareness.
  • Job includes talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to express and exchange ideas with customers and employees by means of the spoken word, either in person or on the phone, by emailing, texting or social media.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Visual ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer screen and reading procedures.
  • Speed and accurate use of computer and other business machines is required.
  • Willingness to assume new responsibilities, ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing and possibly stressful environment is expected.
  • The ability to identify, assist with and resolve routine problems is expected.
  • Working hours may vary.
  • May be required to work in other branch locations as needed.
  • On time attendance is expected.

Working Conditions:

Generally good with some exposure to noise, heat, dust or other adverse factors. Climbing of stairs and some lifting of heavy items. A high amount of pressure to work efficiently, accurately and maintain good employee and customer relations. Considerable effort and eye strain from computer work and continued checking of all detail work in the department.
