Doner
The SVP Studio Director ensures that Doner’s Integrated Studio’s staff of makers of various skill sets are set up for success in their position and that they contribute ably to the success of the studio and larger agency. Additionally, the Studio Director is responsible for the mass adoption and socialization of new technologies and ways of working for the studios. Finally, this role sits in between Producers managing work for all of the business units within the Doner network and the maker resources, ensuring that the appropriate staff is assigned to the appropriate project or work to ensure that both sides are set up for success.
Responsibilities:
Management/Leadership
- Oversee approximately 15 direct reports including production artists, content creators, animators, editors, retouchers, 3D experts, designers and creative technologists.
- Ensure growth paths for each role, skillset and individual that are clearly documented and communicated.
- Ensure adoption and usage of new ways of working and technology, including server, asset management and production tools.
- Set the tone for a positive, engaging work environment based on merit and transparency.
Technology
- Facilitate the wide-scale adoption of automation technologies as appropriate throughout the agency’s makers.
- Participate in agency research and application of new tools and technologies.
- Establish and hone relationships with Adobe’s product and account teams assigned to the Stagwell business to hone and grow our usage of this tech stack.
- Identify needs and propose solutions.
Resource Management
- Run weekly resourcing meetings to set the stage for the coming week and connect producers with the makers required for their workload.
- Facilitate adhoc resourcing needs throughout the week, solving problems and adjusting plans accordingly.
- Lead long term resourcing plans when required
- Identify the needs for new talent, either full time or temporary, based on current needs of agency makers.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years in a leadership role in a production studio environment, agency-side preferable.
- Proficiency in the entire Adobe CC suite with specialties in at least three tools
- Ability to create print-ready print, digital, html and video content from supplied assets.
- Fundamental understanding and history of practical usage of front-end and scripting languages such as HTML, Javascript, CSS. Python is a large plus.
- Fundamental understanding of print, digital, broadcast and content workflows and skillsets with a vision to use them in complementary ways.
- Interest and passion for creative services. It is essential for this position to meet creative campaigns where they are and add value from a scale and execution perspective
