As our founder prepares for deployment, we are looking for a motivated and creative assistant to help keep the business running smoothly.

This is an exciting opportunity for intern-aged candidates, recent college graduates, college students, or stay-at-home parents looking to gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, and e-commerce.

Preference will be given to veterans or service member dependents.

Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time Candle Studio Assistant to help with:

1. Sales at Markets & Events
2. Marketing (Social Media, Product Photography, & Promotions)
3. General Business Operations

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable engaging with customers, and wants to learn how a small business operates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Represent the brand at local markets and pop-up events.
2. Help customers choose the right products and answer questions.
3. Process sales and manage inventory during events.
4. Follow up with potential customers through social media and email.
5. Assist with social media marketing (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).
6. Take product photos and create content for promotions.
7. Help write marketing emails and track campaign performance.
8. Brainstorm creative ways to grow online and local sales.
9. Help make and label candles.
10. Pack and ship customer orders efficiently.
11. Track inventory and restock supplies as needed.
12. Keep the workspace clean and organized.

Compensation & Bonus Structure

Hourly Pay: $16–$18 per hour (depending on experience)

1. 10% commission on direct sales (in-person or online referrals)
2. 5% commission on total store sales if contributing to overall marketing
3. $50 bonus for every $1,000 in sales generated
4. $100 bonus for every $2,500 in sales
5. $250 bonus for every $5,000 in sales

Who We’re Looking For

1. Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
2. Comfortable with hands-on work (pouring, packing, lifting up to 25 lbs)
3. Friendly and outgoing – enjoys talking with customers
4. Interested in marketing, sales, or small business operations
5. Bonus if you have experience with social media, photography, or retail

No prior candle-making experience is required – we will train the right person!

Schedule & Availability

1. 10–20 hours per week, flexible schedule.
2. Must be available for some weekends for in-person markets & events.
3. Some tasks (social media, email marketing) can be done remotely, but manufacturing and order fulfillment must be done in person in Gainesville, VA.
