This Opportunity
WSP has a career opportunity for a Senior Technical Director, Contract Manager. This role will be responsible for post-award contract management working within WSP on behalf of our Clients, overseeing contract negotiations and is responsible for execution and analysis of contracts owned by WSP’s Client. The Contract Manager ensures that contracts meet legal requirements and align with project objectives. This role involves negotiating terms, monitoring compliance, and mitigating contract risks. The position is full time and requires working a minimum of three days in office in Seattle, WA.
This role will be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
This role has been created to support some of the recent project wins and ongoing pursuits in the Seattle transit and transportation market. This role serves to support our client and WSP Program Management teams in managing and administering contracts within a portfolio of projects. This position is contingent upon client approval, meaning that employment will be confirmed once our client has reviewed and approved the selected candidate.
Your Impact
- Manage the negotiation, award, and administration of large-value subcontracts for design, construction, and construction management services in support of transit projects using various commercial models, primarily cost-reimbursable contract mechanisms, to satisfy project needs and client requirements while providing best value and cost effectiveness.
- The contract drafting, negotiation, and execution duties include:
- Providing support to the WSP and the Client’s procurement office for contract drafting and negotiations.
- Responsible for contract evaluation and execution
- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts.
- Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally within the Client’s organization.
- Change order negotiations and execution
- Claims analysis and negotiation.
- Manage and resolve any contract disputes
- Ensure contractor is adhering to all contractual requirements
- Monitoring compliance with contractual clauses and ensuring all parties meet their obligations
- Ensure that projects remain within the specified legal and contractual frameworks
- Ensure compliance with Client’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program requirements.
- Communication & maintaining contract records
- Responsible for timely updating contracts when changes are executed
- Primary point of contact for contractual communications between WSP’s Client and contractors
- Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress
- Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract related matters
- Liaise between project managers and other internal departments to ensure contract compliance.
- Refining and implementing policies and procedures
- Continuous improvement on existing policies and procedures to create additional efficiencies between ST and contractors
- Implementing and using contract management software and tools to streamline processes
- Provide training and support to the project team on contractual matters
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related field
- 15+ years' of relevant post-education industry experience.
- 15+ years’ experience working in the transportation industry is preferable.
- Proven experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Experience with Federal and non-Federal procurements/sub-contracts.
- Solid understanding of domestic purchasing and subcontracting in remediation/construction industry.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to prepare and make presentations to project and external groups and stakeholders.
- Excellent computer literacy skills and skills in MS Office 365, and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent writing skills
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, juggle multiple assignments and deliver on time and within budget.
- Must pass background check.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $149,200 - $300,500
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
