Job Overview
The New Jersey Assembly Majority Office is seeking two Associate Video Producers to shoot and edit videos, working on a rotating basis in the local district offices of Democratic Assembly members. These temporary positions run through December 2025. The producers will work closely with local district offices and the Assembly Majority office communications team.
Working in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidates will be comfortable recording videos and identifying compelling content, and rapidly editing and packaging finished video or digital messages for distribution by a dedicated communications team. The video producers will travel to locations across New Jersey on a regular basis and must be available to work evenings and weekends. Producers must be flexible, adaptable team players who are always willing to go the extra mile. The Video Producers will focus on storytelling that increases the Assembly members’ online digital presence, highlighting the members’ legislative achievements and community engagement. Video content will include full news style packages as well as featured stories and short clips.
The producers must be familiar with several social media platforms and must be comfortable shooting with DSLR Cameras, and utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include:
- Filming video content on-location, with frequent travel between districts.
- Preparing video content and graphics for social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others.
- Collaborating with the communications team to implement digital media strategies.
- Taking photographs.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or other related field.
- Proficiency with DSLR Cameras and Adobe Creative Suite.
- At least one year of shooting and editing experience.
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of New Jersey State politics is desirable.
- Bilingual capabilities a plus.
Residency Law: All persons newly hired have one year to establish residency in New Jersey, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L 2011, Chapter 70).
