ABOUT THE ROLE
REFORM is hiring a Senior Video Producer & Videographer to lead our video storytelling efforts across all marketing and communications channels. In this role, you will shoot and edit compelling social and digital-first videos for our organization.
The Senior Video Producer & Videographer oversees the REFORM video program, managing all aspects of video production, from concept development to final delivery. This role may also include working with the team to manage outsourced photographers and videographers, producing content for social media and live events, and ensuring timely project completion. The successful candidate will maintain high-quality standards, meet project deadlines, and execute creative storytelling for the organization.
This role is on the Marketing & Communications team and reports directly to the VP, Marketing & Communications.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Video Production and Videography (70%)
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of video projects from ideation to execution to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Manage and coordinate the production team to ensure smooth operations, which may include scouting and evaluating locations for video shoots.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop concepts, storyboards, and scripts.
- Shoot, edit, and finalize high-quality video footage for various projects such as our storytelling series, event programming, and legislative content. Provide creative input on shots and visual styles. Manage camera work, including angles, movements, and setup. Set up and manage cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for shoots. Record professional-quality audio to complement video footage.
- Maintain and manage production equipment, ensuring it is functional and available.
Social Media & Live Event Production (10%)
- Draft social media posts, including copy, for leadership review and approval.
- Manage and produce content for live events, ensuring high-quality media elements are in place.
Photography (10%)
- Capture, edit, and retouch professional-quality images that align with project needs and meet high visual standards.
- Plan, design, and execute themed photo shoots.
Other duties as assigned (10%)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years of video editing experience (e.g., Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere) with experience editing sound and color.
- Experience working as a producer to independently develop ideas, create stories, and build plans for video production and development.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator) to create necessary graphics for video production.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience creating public-facing video campaigns that focus on storytelling.
- Strong understanding of social media video trends and performance metrics.
- Experience traveling to different locations to find and capture stories, interviews, and content.
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment to ensure the best content is created for our organization.
- Ability to act and make decisions quickly during breaking news situations to create engaging and informative video content.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to calmly deliver outstanding work under pressure.
- Curious and ambitious brand thinker and storyteller.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-obsessed with excellent judgment, communication, and presentation skills.
- Deep enthusiasm for learning, growing, and finding better ways to do things.
- Highly proficient with Google Suite, Mac OS, Slack, and social media platforms.

WORK DEMANDS
- Approximately 20% local and national travel to film and edit video content.
- Given that the Marketing & Communications Team supports the organization at all hours, this position will occasionally need to work outside non-traditional hours, roughly 20% of the time, especially when traveling for work.
- When filming, this person will have to transport, set-up, and use cameras, tripods or other equipment ,and be in action for long periods of time.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Live within commuting distance of New York City (midtown)
- Ability to work in-person five (5) days per week.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be ~ $104,000-$130,000. REFORM offers competitive base salaries based on the 75th percentile of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously.
