We are the internal creative team for L'Oreal USA's American Brands of the Professional Products Division, including Redken, Matrix, Biolage, Pureology, Mizani, Pulp Riot and L'Oreal Technique.

We are looking for a talented and innovative Art Director to shape and evolve the Biolage, Pureology, and Mizani brands. Reporting to the Brand Creative Lead, this role will be responsible for defining, executing, and maintaining the distinct visual identities of these three brands, ensuring consistency across digital, e-commerce, advertising, and in-salon environments. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, brand builder, and visual storyteller with experience in premium beauty, wellness, or luxury brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Identity & Visual Strategy
• Partner with the Brand Creative Lead to define, evolve, and execute the distinct brand identities for Biolage, Pureology, and Mizani.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines (logo usage, color palettes, typography, imagery style, and other visual brand elements) for each brand.
• Establish aesthetic frameworks that reflect each brand's unique positioning, values, and target audiences.

Creative Concepting & Execution
• Concept and execute visually compelling campaigns that align with each brand's strategy.
• Design assets for product launches, digital & social media, e-commerce, advertising, and in-salon experiences.
• Lead photoshoot direction-from concepting to execution-to ensure alignment with each brand's distinct visual language.
• Present visual concepts and designs to internal stakeholders, articulating creative rationale.

Collaboration & Leadership
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product Development, Sales) to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints.
• Provide mentorship and art direction to junior designers, upholding high creative standards.
• Stay ahead of design trends in beauty, fashion, and digital innovation to bring fresh, industry-leading perspectives.

Required Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years in an Art Director or Senior Designer role, with a strong focus on brand identity and asset creation.
• Exceptional visual storytelling skills with a deep understanding of typography, photography, color theory, and composition.
• A strong portfolio showcasing brand identity, digital assets, and multi-channel campaign work, ideally for premium beauty, wellness, or luxury brands.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with digital design trends.
• Ability to balance creativity with business strategy, ensuring brand alignment and commercial impact.
• Strong presentation and communication skills-able to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Experience in professional salon, beauty, wellness, fashion, or luxury brands.
• Familiarity with generative AI for concepting and visual ideation.
• Understanding of print and digital production processes.
• Ability to push creative boundaries while maintaining brand integrity.
