POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Content Strategist is a key role responsible for bridging strategy and execution to amplify the reach and effectiveness of our content efforts. You'll drive full-funnel content marketing efforts, working closely with stakeholders across our different teams to deliver high-quality, impactful content that meets or exceeds business objectives.

You will drive operational excellence across the content lifecycle, build scalable processes, align cross-functional teams with unified editorial strategies, and leverage technology to ensure the delivery, distribution, measurement, and full lifecycle management of high-quality, impactful content that meets or exceeds business objectives. This role will play a critical part in bridging strategy and execution to amplify the reach and effectiveness of our content efforts.

We are looking for someone who can quickly become an expert on our target customer base across our core industries and develop expertise in Vasion's products & positioning. Primary responsibilities include developing high-performing marketing/sales content, executing a vertical content calendar, owning the production of SEO-optimized blog articles, and working with leadership to strengthen Vasions' narrative and positioning across channels.

The ideal person is a natural-born storyteller and strong collaborator, is creative, performance-driven, and a stickler for consistency and upholding brand and content standards. This individual should be excited to not only manage the content but also work on the execution of editing and writing. The expectation is that 20% of the time is on strategy and ~80% is working as an individual contributor writing and editing content. This Individual will also develop and manage a team of in-house/external writers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leveraging insights from Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to create and hone compelling messaging and impactful content across all channels and platforms.
  • Identifying and executing strategic content marketing initiatives to support the company's objectives in collaboration with the Director of Content Strategy.
  • Facilitate and execute comprehensive creative brand storytelling, prioritizing strategic content marketing opportunities with Integrated Campaigns, PR, and thought leadership to drive brand awareness and product adaptation.
  • Positioning: Work with leadership and Product Marketing to refine and improve Vasion's brand narrative and product positioning across channels.
  • Leadership: serve as senior team lead for a small but mighty squad of in-house writers and any ad hoc contractors, ensuring content consistency and brand standards are upheld, overseeing and mentoring content creation, best practices, brand guidelines, and data-driven decision making.
  • Processes & governance: establish content creation workflows (balancing for speed & quality) and content governance standards.
  • Oversee the entire content lifecycle-from ideation to distribution-ensuring timely and effective delivery of content across digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Ensure all content maintains a high standard of accuracy and consistency, adhering to brand guidelines and resonating with target audiences across all touchpoints.
  • Utilize data, analytics, and customer insights to inform and refine content strategies for performance, focusing on enhancing engagement, SEO performance, and overall content effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to track content performance across the customer journey, using data to inform strategy adjustments and report on key business metrics.

  • Maintain close collaboration with leadership to ensure content marketing initiatives are aligned with broader company goals, providing regular updates on progress, key metrics, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, English, History, or a related field.
  • Exceptional senior-level writing, communications, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • 5-7 years of experience in strategic content marketing, content development, content operations, content marketing, in technical or SaaS environments required
  • Experience with technical product lifecycles and product launch processes with the capabilities to translate technical concepts into market-facing language
  • Proven execution in managing large-scale content production and multi-disciplinary and/or cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience in crafting and upholding content standards and guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of content management systems (CMS), project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Asana), and analytics platforms and content workflows.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, localization strategies, and AI-driven content technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and partner cross-functionally.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Project management experience
  • Product launch lead experience
  • Team leadership experience is a plus, but not required
  • Experience implementing a content marketing maturity model.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance for content (e.g., accessibility standards, GDPR)
  • Analytical mindset, with a focus on using data to inform content and communication strategies.
