We are seeking to hire an ACCOUNT MANAGER. In this role, under the direction of the VP of Media Relations, this candidate will be responsible for creating highly visible PR campaigns and garnering ongoing press placement for their clients. This includes community engagement and strategic partnership strategy and campaigns. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of agency experience, and a demonstrated track record of developing strategic and integrated communications campaigns. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and manage a portfolio of clients across industries.
- Build client relationships by ongoing and regular contact with client and its representatives
- Develop strategic media relations and media outreach plans and programs to communicate the client’s key messages, achieve ongoing positive publicity and assist in achieving client goals
- Provide innovative and strategic ideas to clients to garner ongoing press opportunities
- Build relationships with key media and influencer contacts
- Manage news media requests and other requests for interviews, stories, tours, broadcasting, photo shoots and filming for clients. Meet and accompany press.
- Serve as spokesperson and help other spokespeople present to media.
- Monitor and submit media coverage reports from print, broadcast and digital media. Research media coverage and industry trends
- Create interesting, creative story angles and fresh content. Research, write and issue press releases, pitches, and proposals.
- Plan and help implement events and activations with the goal of creating media opportunities and interesting content for clients.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of agency experience in the field of Public Relations or Marketing.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent writing skills and experience in writing pitches and press releases
- Strong verbal skills and ability to act as spokesperson to news media on behalf of client
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
Candidate must currently reside in the Houston area. Salary commensurate with experience.
